Meet Jesus

Nothing is as important in life as a relationship with God. Sadly, though, we have all been separated from God because of our own choices and actions. As the Bible says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

Not only does our sin separate us from God, but it condemns us to an eternity without God. Romans 6:23 tell us, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Read again the last half of that verse. God has given us a gift, that, when we accept the gift, we don't have to die eternally, but we can live eternally with God! God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the necessary penalty for our sin so that we might be able to live in a right relationship with God. He did this because of His love for you - "God loved the world (each person) so much that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

Today, lots of different religions would like you to believe that there are many roads to God - each equally valid, though very different. In reality, though, there is only one road to God and the way has been paved by Jesus Christ. Jesus said about himself in John 14:6, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me."

When you ask Jesus to come into your life and forgive you of your sins, He will come in and make you a "new creation" - beautiful and blameless before God. You then get the joy of knowing you will spend eternity with God. But equally important, you can live with God in this life. He can guide you through all of life's difficulties, give you peace, hope, joy and love.

If you would like to have a right relationship with God, simply talk to God in prayer with a simple prayer like this:

God, I know that I have done and thought things that have hurt You. I am sorry. Thank you for sending Jesus, Your Son, that I might be forgiven. Please let Jesus come into my life right now and take away my sin. I want Jesus to be the the Lord of my life so that I can live with You every day. Help me and guide me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Congratulations! If you just prayed that with a sincere heart God has forgiven you and the Bible tells us that there is a party going on in heaven right now, in your honor. Whether you feel different or not, know that God loves you and lives inside of you. But that is not the end. This is just the beginning of a meaningful, life-long relationship with God.

Spend time daily talking to God in prayer. Learn about God and how He wants you to live by reading His Word, the Bible. Get involved in a Bible-believing Christian church, because worship is very important to God. Also, tell others about what God has done in your life.
